Manuscritos do Mar Morto e Qumran

This site will attempt, using such resources as are or become available on the Web, to provide anyone with an active interest in any aspect of the Dead Sea Scrolls with an opportunity to determine for themselves what, if any, interest or relevance these ancient writings or the ancillary artifacts from Qumran have for them.

The Orion Center was established in 1995 as part of the Institute for Jewish Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The Center aims to stimulate and foster research on the Scrolls, particularly the great task of integrating the new information gained from the Scrolls into the body of knowledge about Jewish history and religion in the Second Temple period. Such integration will affect areas such as biblical studies, Jewish literature and thought of the Second Temple Period, earliest Christianity and the New Testament, the study of early rabbinic Judaism, and more.
